Founded in 1846 by Philip Doerr in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia Carpets is the broadest product line and one of the oldest brands in the industry.
The Cut and Uncut pile carpet is exactly what the name implies, a mix of cut and uncut loops that form a pattern. The patterns may be random or uniform. Patterns, including geometrics herringbone,diamonds and basketweave are made by cutting some loops and leaving others uncut. The loops may also vary in height and diameter.
Typically this style gives the impression of a berber with softer hand. Sometimes the style evokes the 60's when it was extremely popular. It was often called sculpted or sculptured. As a casual long wearing style its often used in family rooms,dens or great rooms. the surface texture can hide dirt and footprints.
